Julie Beth Schreckenberg, 50, passed away on May 25, 2026 at BJC Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. Born on March 26, 1976, Julie grew up in O'Fallon and graduated from O'Fallon Township High School in 1994. She went on to earn her undergraduate degree in psychology from Eastern Illinois University and her education degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Julie met the love of her life, Jason, in high school. They were married in 2001 and a few years later the second love of her life arrived, her daughter Regan.
Julie was a woman of strong Christian faith, and she lived that faith each day through service to others, including volunteering with Faith in Action and supporting Relay For Life. A three-time cancer survivor, she faced life with courage, resilience, and grace. Julie found great joy in cheering on her daughter, Regan, throughout her soccer career, spending time with friends and family, enjoying warm weather and trips to the beach, and baking, especially with family at Christmas time. Julie was a continuous source of joy, with a smile and demeanor that brightened any room she occupied. The eternal competitor, Julie would flash her beautiful smile after an epic card game win, especially if it was a euchre win.
Julie loved to care for and spoil her nieces, nephews and children of her many friends. She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, unwavering faith, and the love she shared so freely with those around her.
Survivors include her loving husband Jason, daughter Regan, father John (Gerry) Peters, mother Margie (Guy) Miller; brothers Jeff (Becki) Peters and their children Ashley, Taylor, Lucas, and Lexi and Jason Peters and his son Max; step-brother Geoff (Erin) Dial and their boys Nicholas and Brendan, and step-brother Casey (Lydia) and son Ronin; step-brother Tobi (Nicki) Miller and their boys Carson and Cole; step-sister Gabby (Jimmy) and their children Raiden and Rylee, and her grandmother Marian Peters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to American Cancer Society. Share a memory with the family and sign the guestbook at www.wfh-ofallon.com.
