Katherine Stepp Boyles, 91, of O'Fallon, IL (formerly of Butler, PA), passed away at 5:20 PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Liberty Village of Maryville, Skilled Nursing Home.

She was born October 25, 1931, in Maryville, TN, the daughter of the late Hugh Bruce Stepp and Mary Kate (Starnes) Stepp.

Katherine (Stepp) Boyles was the wife of Robert G. Boyles whom she married on August 20, 1955, making their home in Butler, PA. Prior to her marriage, she completed a degree in nursing at Johns Hopkins University and then worked as a public health nurse in Butler County until starting a family.

Katherine was a member of Westminster Church PCA faithfully attending Bible studies and serving in the choir and women's organization. Additionally, she served in the Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. For many years she was active in the Moraine Sailing Club. Kathy enjoyed knitting and extended her love of the craft to others through her Knitworks yarn shop and participation in a local knitting club. Many appreciated the warmth not only of her socks and mittens but also her personable character.

Following her husband's death, she moved to O'Fallon, IL to be close to family and great-grandchildren. Katherine loved people and quickly made friends everywhere she lived.

Surviving are her two daughters, Marilyn (Rev. Tom) Dawson of O'Fallon, IL, Molly Boyles of Basel, Switzerland, two grandchildren, Katie (Josh) Anderson and Jon (Kristen) Dawson, and three great-grandchildren, Abby, Sam, and Wyatt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Boyles in 2015.

A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at First Baptist Church of O'Fallon, 1111 E. Hwy. 50, (Seven Hills Entrance) O'Fallon, IL on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, with visitation at 10:00 AM and Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.

A Memorial Service will also be held at Westminster Church PCA, 420 N. Main St., Butler, Pennsylvania, on Friday, January 6, 2023, with visitation at 10:00 AM and Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.

Private interment in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Sandy Lake, PA.
