Kenneth R. Deering, age 72, of Shiloh, formerly of St. Louis, born November 22, 1941 in East St. Louis, Ill., died November 11, 2014 at Willow Creek Nursing Home, Belleville, Ill.
Mr. Deering served in the National Guard as a young man and joined Local 527 Cement Masons in 1965, working primarily in residential construction. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed deer hunting.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Peggy L., nee Richards, Deering of Shiloh, whom he married October 5, 1963 at St. Phillip Catholic Church in East St. Louis; his daughters Robin (Roger) Matecki of Valmeyer, Ill., and Deanna (Gary) Krafft of Dittmer, Mo., and his grandson Jordan Matecki.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Regina, nee Dressler, Deering.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice for cancer research.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday, November 14, 2014 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon, and after 10:00 am, Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11:00 am, Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon, Ill., with Msgr. James Margason officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
