Lara Baker Robertson, 54, passed away peacefully on Dec. 2, 2023, in Lebanon, Ill. She was born March 29, 1969 in San Bernardino, Calif, to Candace Baker and the late Roy T. Baker.

Lara was a dedicated and passionate individual who made a significant impact in the field of disaster relief. A graduate of Clemson University with a Master's in City and Regional Planning, she became a certified planner (AICP) and worked in the Commonwealth of Kentucky co-managing community redevelopment projects followed by a career helping others during times of crisis. Lara served as a subject matter expert in disaster recovery, working for the State of Louisiana, Plexos, and, most recently, CDR Emergency Management.

Throughout her 27-year career, Lara played a crucial role in aiding communities affected by various natural disasters, including Hurricane Katrina and Super Storm Sandy. Her expertise extended to managing over $23 billion in aid, covering 14 disasters for 10 grantees at both the state and federal levels.

Lara is survived by her loving mother, Candace Baker, and her devoted canine companion, Beaux. She will be remembered not only for her professional achievements but also for her kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
