Larry M. Scheibel, age 75, of O'Fallon, born November 29, 1946 in Belleville, Ill., to Leslie and Virginia, nee Hangsleben, Scheibel, passed away October 4, 2022.

A lifelong resident of O'Fallon, Larry was a union carpenter by trade, but dabbled in various types of work, including over-the-road trucker, owner of a fencing company and a local bar. As an ironworker, he was foreman of a crew during construction of the Poplar Street Bridge and a major remodeling project at St. Clair Square shopping mall. Larry loved hunting, boating, water skiing, and chatting with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his former wife Barbara Scheibel.

Surviving are his daughter Leslie Ybarra-Rader; his granddaughter Ashley Ybarra; and his sister Jacque (Roger) Scheibel Donaldson.

Memorial donations may be made to the family.

Visitation: 11 am – 1 pm, Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon.

Funeral: 1 pm, Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at the funeral home, with Rev. Tarrah Vaupel officiating. Burial will follow at O'Fallon City Cemetery, O'Fallon, Ill.
