Lawrence Glennon Kernan, age 82, of O'Fallon, Illinois, born September 9, 1928 in East
St. Louis, Ill., died October 8, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Kernan was the owner of Snow Printing in Belleville, Ill. He was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church, O'Fallon; Knights of Columbus Council 592, Swansea Moose Lodge, and a volunteer with the American Heart Association.
He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Betty R., nee Benner, Kernan; his parents, Stephen H. and Ruth, nee Curtis, Kernan; brothers Stephen and Jack; sisters Mary and Patricia; granddaughter Susan Lill; and son-in-law William Butler.
Surviving are his three sons, Larry G. (Pam) Kernan of Highland, Ill., Timothy (Bea) Kernan of Austin, Tex., Kenton Kernan of Belleville, Ill.; seven daughters, Patricia (Larry) Saavedra of Albuquerque, N. Mex., Carol (Jim) Young of O'Fallon, Ill., Barbara (Gene Schill) O'Donnell of O'Fallon., Ill., Kay (Tom) Phelan of Columbus, Ohio., Pam (Mike) Hollenkamp of O'Fallon, Ill., Peggy (Scott) Smallwood of Belleville, Ill., and Beth (Vinnie) DePersio of Navarre, Fla.; 24 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren (plus one on the way); sister Emily Moyihan; sister-in-law, Sue Kernan; and special family friends Grace Stoltz and Darwin Cabb.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Family Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 11, 2010 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral Procession will depart the funeral home at 9:45 a.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2010 for a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10:00 a.m., at St. Clare Catholic Church, with Rev. William J. Hitpas presiding.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
