Leona E. Hoeffken, nee Loecher, age 99, of O'Fallon, born October 28, 1908 in Belleville, Ill, passed away Saturday morning, February 16, 2008.

She worked as a secretary for Hoppe Insurance Co., Belleville and at Scott AFB for many years. She had also worked with Alex Chouinard Real Estate and Insurance Co, Belleville, and was a volunteer for Call for Help for many years. Mrs. Hoeffken was a parishioner at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in O'Fallon. Leona enjoyed reading, playing cards, bingo, and slot machines and was especially fond of traveling with her family to Tunica. She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Hoeffken, whom she married in 1935; her parents, Henry J. and Amelia J. (nee Hofmeister) Loecher; and her sister Valeda Evans.

She is survived by her daughters, Enid W. (Raymond) Dienberg of Swansea, Nancy L. (the late Glenn) Holly of O'Fallon, Ellen K. (George) Darling of Belfast, Maine, and Linda J. (Jim) Quinlan of Indiana. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9:00 – 10:30 am, Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon. Yesterday's Kids will conduct a walk-through at 9:45 am.

Funeral Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 am, Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon, with Msgr. William Hitpas presiding.

Burial will follow at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
