Leona J. Vickery, nee Strohl, age 68, of Mascoutah, Ill, born October 1, 1947 in Massillon, Ohio, passed away at home, September 24, 2016.

Leona had retired from Scott AFB, where she had worked as a housekeeping supervisor. She enjoyed shopping and eating out with her friends, and always had a special place for her dachshunds.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert G. Vickery; her mother Mary, nee Harthong, Kiddey; her stepparents Edward Kiddey and Carol Strohl.

Surviving are her loving daughter Lori (companion Chris Chitwood) Heifner of Ashley, Ill.; her father David Strohl of Okawville; her brothers Danny (Tina) Strohl of New Minden, Ill., and Davey (Gayle) Strohl of Centralia, Ill.; her sister Becky (Phil) Tijerna of Washington, and half-brother Brett (Kim) Kiddey of N. Richland Hills, Texas.

Memorial donations are suggested to your favorite animal shelter and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon.

Memorial Service: 3:00 pm, Saturday, October 8, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Duane Smith officiating.

Interment will be held privately at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
