Lesley Lynn Carol Brown-Hozian, age 51, of Mascoutah, formerly of Hillsboro, Ill., passed away unexpectedly on August 26, 2026 at her home in Mascoutah. Lesley was born September 19, 1974 in Madison, Ohio, and was proud to grow up as the daughter of a police officer. Relocating often due to his career, she primarily grew up in Denton, Texas where she discovered her despise for the Dallas Cowboys, and thus became a longtime die-hard fan of the San Francisco 49ers.
Lesley began her employment at the former Montgomery Nursing and Rehab Center in Hillsboro, Ill., many years ago, and due to her commitment and performance, was promoted within the larger corporation and relocated to their main office in O’Fallon about 2 years ago. Lesley was wonderful with children and was a loving and dedicated mother to Austin and Madison, and was a proud godmother of Christian, Noah, and Tyler Young. As a single mom, she never missed an opportunity to be present for her children.
Surviving are her children Austin (McKenzie) Ward of Chatham, Ill., and Madison Brown of Mascoutah, Ill., her mother Carol Prater of Springfield, Ill., siblings Jeremy Nagle, Josh Nagle, Jamie Nagle, and Jared Laynen. She was preceded in death by her father Lester Nagle.
Lesley would have preferred no fanfare or formal services, so remember her for the person she was to each of you.
Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O’Fallon, Ill., is serving the family. Sign the guestbook at www.wfh-ofallon.com.
