Mrs. Lammers retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, where she worked in the food service department for 14 years. She was a past member of St. Clare Catholic Church, St. Clare Altar Sodality, and O'Fallon Senior Citizens Club. She was a resident of O'Fallon since 1945, until she moved a few years ago to be closer to her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Grace, nee Burrell, Ritter, her brother Leo Ritter, and her husband Frank A. Lammers, whom she married September 4, 1939 at St. Stephens Catholic Church, in Flora, Ill.; and passed away April 13, 1995.

Surviving are her children, James Lammers of Tucson, Ariz., Shirley Pyle of Tyler, Tex., John Robert Lammers, of Marietta, Ga., and Ruth Ann Kinstle of The Villages, Fla.; Nine Grandchildren, and 14 Great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are her brother, Ira C. Ritter; and sisters Marie M. Bullard and June Ayers.

When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not there to see If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me; I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today, While thinking of many things we didn't get to say.

I know how much you loved me, As much as I loved you, and each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me, too; But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand that an angel came and called my name, and took my hand, and said my place was ready in heaven far above, and that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Clare Catholic Church or in the form of Masses.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9:00 – 11:00 am, Monday, February 13, 2012 at St. Clare Catholic Church.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Monday, February 13, 2012 at the church.

Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
