Lisa Delois Brooks, age 56, of Washington, D.C., passed away June 4, 2020.

Lisa grew up in Washington, D.C., and graduated from Dunbar High School. She worked in housekeeping and maintenance at various nursing homes and office buildings. Lisa was very dedicated to caring for others. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was fun to be around. No matter the obstacle, Lisa always found a way to make things happen – especially for her children. Always the favorite aunt, Lisa and her delicious cooking and vibrant personality will be missed. As her health began to fail, Lisa moved to the Scott AFB area of southern Illinois to be near her daughter Shante.

She was preceded in death by her parents Sidney Ford and Catherine Harris, her husband Wilbert Brooks, Sr., her son Wilbert Brooks, Jr., and her siblings Dexter McNeil, Patricia Dobbins, Eugene McNeil, and John (Cliff) McNeil.

Surviving are her children Shante Griggs, LaJuan McBryde, and Delonte Brooks; her grandchildren Simone Griggs, Troy Griggs, Alhana Sesay, Naim Riles, and Kashmira McBryde. Also surviving are her siblings Grace Barnes, Keith Franklin, Janice Ford, and Milford Bryant.
