Lora Louise Sturdivant, nee King, age 88, born January 29, 1921 in Rutherford, Tenn. died July 24, 2009. Mrs. Sturdivant was a retired electrical worker from National Vendors. As a homemaker, she was a good cook and enjoyed needlework, gardening, puzzles, and bingo. She was a faithful Sunday School teacher. After retirement, she was fortunate to be able to travel with her husband and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, J.T. Sturdivant, who passed away May 23, 2000; her parents Benjamin T. and Jessie (nee Needham) King, and brothers Benson, Woodrow, and Carlyle King.

She is survived by her daughters Betty (Walter) Gerth of O'Fallon, and Mary (special friend Walter Ethridge) Sturdivant of Nashville, Tenn; brother Harry (Lucille) King, grandchildren David (Lisa Williams) Gerth, Mark (Samantha) Gerth, and Mary Kay (Craig) Maskal, great-grandchildren Warren, J.T., and Bryce Gerth and Reese Maskal.

The family extends appreciation to the staff of Rosewood Care Center and the friends and family who visited Mrs. Sturdivant. Memorials in honor of Mrs. Sturdivant may be made to your favorite charity. Condolences may be extended to the family by visiting

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2009 and from 9:00 – 10:00 am., Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer and Rev. David Gerth officiating.

Private burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis.
