Lorene Margaret Hollenkamp, nee Kapp, age 93, of O'Fallon, born January 19, 1930 in Highland, Ill., passed away Saturday morning, May 13, 2023 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese, Ill.

Lorene grew up in Highland, one of 11 children, and attended Highland schools. On April 29, 1950, she married Ralph Hollenkamp, a WWII Navy veteran, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland. They moved to O'Fallon where Lorene worked for many years in the cafeterias at St. Clare School and O'Fallon Twp. High School. She was a very faithful parishioner at St. Clare Church, where she participated in Altar Sodality and the Seniors' Club. She was an active quilter and served on the Funeral Luncheon committee for many years. She loved traveling, watching St. Louis Cardinals games, and going to Carlyle lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph in 2001; her parents John and Maggie Kapp, nee Holzinger; all of her siblings George, Nelson (Marilyn), Clarence (Ruth), Johnny (Alveria), Edwin (Mildred), and Edgar (Laura) Kapp, Frances (Urban) Mersinger, Margaret (Gary) Werner, Bernice (Joe) Hollenkamp, and Mary Ann Brown.

Survivors include her three sons Donald (Donna) Hollenkamp, Thomas (Cecilia) Hollenkamp, and Michael (Pam) Hollenkamp, all of O'Fallon; grandchildren Brian (Jennifer), Jennifer, Kelly (Aaron) Fox, Lara (Jordan) Sanchez, Courtney, and Steven (Marti); great-grandchildren Will, Max, Eli, Hudson, Ava, and Calvin; brother-in-law Bernard Brown; and many nieces & nephews.

Memorial donations are suggested to the St. Clare Catholic School.

The family will receive friends from 9 – 11 am, Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at St. Clare Catholic Church, 1411 Cross St., Shiloh. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am at the church, with Rev. James Deiters presiding. Private family burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
