Lorraine Wright, nee Ambry, age 97, born April 6, 1923 in Belleville, Ill., to Eugene and Margaret, nee Rasp, Ambry, passed away Sunday morning, December 6, 2020 at Liberty Village in Maryville, Ill.

She grew up in Shiloh and graduated from O'Fallon Township High School. She had worked as a Sales Manager at Lerner's Clothing Store in Belleville, and attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church until she and her late husband Harold moved to Louisiana in the late 1970s. There, she was instrumental in the establishment of and served as President of the Sabine County Volunteer Fire Department. She was also Past President of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Lorraine stayed active as an avid walker, and enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Wright in 1986; her daughter Bonnie Glass; her parents; her brother Oscar Ambry, and sister Eileen Klucker.

She is survived by her son Verlan Wright of Cadiz, Ky., daughter Debra Wright of Fairview Heights, Ill., granddaughters Christy Boss, Alicia Ferguson, Natalyn Janenne, Monica Bernreuter, and Kristen Bernreuter; and twelve great-grandchildren.
