Lucas "Luke" Edward Morrill, 10-day-old son of proud parents Andrew Aaron and Maria Alexis, nee Daesch, Morrill, of Columbia, Ill., born October 13, 2012 at Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, passed away Tuesday evening, October 23, 2012, at Children's Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
At 8 pounds, 0 ounces, Sweet Baby Luke had the heart of a giant and was a fighter every day that he was on this Earth. He taught his family more in 10 days than he could have learned in a lifetime of living. His strong heart allowed him to share the gift of life, and others have been made better because of him. Around the clock, Luke was surrounded by his family and for ten days, knew nothing but the love of his parents.
In addition to his parents, Luke is survived by his grandparents, Mike and Terrie Morrill; and Ron and Lucy Daesch, all of O'Fallon; uncles Sam (Kathy) Morrill of Rockford, Ill., Alex Daesch of O'Fallon, Doug (Renea) Daesch, and Roland Daesch, both of Belleville; great grandparents, Doyle and Joyce Copley and Zelma Morrill; cousins Claire, Landon, and Jacob; much extended family and a host of wonderful friends.
The ongoing support of friends and family has been much appreciated by Luke's family.
The family requests memorial donations in honor of Sweet Baby Luke be made to National Urea Cycle Disorders Foundation (www.nucdf.org) or to Mid-America Transplant Services (www.mts-stl.org); donations may be mailed to the funeral home.
The family will gather for a private service.
