Lucia Fatima Pacheco, age 42 , born August 26, 1966 in Povoacao, Lomba do Alcaide, Island of St. Michael, Azores, passed away Tuesday evening, December 2, 2008 in O'Fallon, surrounded by her loving family.

Lucy came to the O'Fallon area two years ago with her brother Paulo, to help open his restaurant, Paulo's at the Mansion, where Lucy was the Executive Pastry Chef. Lucy was known for her hospitality at the restaurant. Her generous spirit was evident in her charitable acts; she had served the poor and homeless in area soup kitchens and was generous with her time and talents. She was an avid sports fan and an accomplished pastry chef. She attended St. Clare Catholic Church, O'Fallon.

She is survived by her parents, Deodato M. and Irene, nee Branco, Pacheco of Fall River, Mass., her three brothers Paulo Pacheco of O'Fallon, and Osvaldo Pacheco and Henry Pacheco, both of Fall River, Mass., her four sisters Jessica Pacheco of Westport, Mass., Carmen Pettine, Goretti Eonas, both of Brockton, Mass., and Annie Furtado, of Fall River, Mass., 14 nieces and nephews, one great nephew, and many aunts and uncles. Lucy was especially proud of her role as godmother to her niece Samantha Eonas.

The family kindly requests no flowers. Memorial donations are suggested to the family or to Hospice of S. Illinois.

Visitation: 4:00 - 8:00 pm, Monday, December 8, 2008 at Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Fall River, Massachusetts.

Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:00 am, Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Santo Christo Church, Fall River, Mass., with burial at Notre Dame Cemetery.

A Memorial Service to honor the life of Lucy will be at 4:00 pm, Sunday, December 14, 2008, at St. Clare Catholic Church, with Rev. James Deiters presiding. A reception will immediately follow the service at Paulo's at the Mansion.
