Lucille Rasp

June 25, 1926 — April 7, 2026

Lucille Mary Rasp, nee Louis, was born June 25, 1926 on the family farm in O’Fallon, Ill., and passed away Tuesday evening, April 7, 2026, just a few weeks shy of 100 years old. Lucille was one of six children born to Joseph and Christina, nee George, Louis. She married Lee T. Rasp on November 14, 1953 and he passed away on November 28, 2010. They were married for 57 years.

Lucille was a true farmer’s wife. In addition to having her own small egg, vegetable and capon business, and raising chickens, she would help Lee in the fields, especially during planting and harvest time. Lucille enjoyed being outdoors, working in her flower beds and rose gardens. Indoors, she tended her houseplants and was a devoted homemaker. For the past several years, she became known lovingly as “Lucy” by other residents and her caregivers; Lucy led a full, active life and was playing bingo and chatting with friends just until a few days ago. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee; her parents; siblings Joseph (Emma), Albert, and Edward Louis; Lorene (Paul) Feder and Loretta (Marvin) Mertz; son-in-law Stanley Kramkowski; and granddaughter Christina Prindable.

Surviving are her daughters Rita Kramkowski and Doris (Jerry) Obernuefemann; grandchildren Amanda (B.J.) Benyr, Bradley (Katie) Kramkowski, Scott (Brie) Obernuefemann, Sarah (Tanner) Burns, and Jessica (Mark) Shelton; great-grandchildren Braden and Maia Benyr, Tommy, Addison, and Avery Kramkowski, Elena and Layla Obernuefemann, Brylee and Liam Shelton, Oliver Burns; and many nieces and nephews.

The family is grateful to her caregivers and VITAS for their kindness and dedication to Lucy and her family. Memorial donations are suggested to either Poor Clare Monastery, 300 N. 60th St., Belleville, IL 62223 or to VITAS Hospice, 16 Executive Dr., Suite 100, Fairview Heights, IL 62208; donations will also be accepted at the visitation.
