Luella C. "Lou" (nee Fox) Holverson, age 81, of Fairview Heights, Ill., passed away January 20, 2024 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, O'Fallon, Ill.

Lou was born in Canton, Mo. on April 4, 1942 to Lewis "Buck" and Catherine "Kate", nee Arnold, Fox. She lived in the Quad Cities for many years before moving to Peoria Heights, and finally to the Metro-East in 2006. Lou formerly worked in customer service for Sears and was an Avon Lady for many years. She was an avid bowler and bowling coach. She enjoyed camping and four-wheeling. She was a gifted gardener and past president of Central Illinois Hosta Society. She and Jack worked together to create beautiful landscapes and gardens at each of their homes and were occasionally invited to showcase their beautifully designed yards on local garden walks. Lou loved a good turtle shake and was the reliable "Kool-Aid" mom in the neighborhood while the kids were growing up.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law Dean Remour and her nephew Boomer Remour.

She is survived by her husband John "Jack" Holverson; children Kathy (Steve) Turner of Shiloh, Ill., and Camren Holverson of Belleville, Ill., grandchildren Shannan (Brian) Mason, Megan (Josh) Hellrung, Ryan Schoemaker, and Sean Turner; great grandchildren Elliot, Gus, and Quintin Mason, and Ashlynn and Nolan Hellrung; sisters Lorraine Remour and Mar (Ray) Van De Voorde; nieces Lisa (Leonard) Stewart, Lauri (Wes) Graham, Jamie (Steven) Scott, nephew Mike (Missy) Van De Voorde and several great nieces and great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, to honor her love for children, memorial donations are suggested to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital . A Celebration of Life gathering is being planned in the Quad Cities at a later date.
