Margaret "Peggy" Jane Saunders, age 96, of O'Fallon, born June 20, 1921 in Toronto, Ohio, died October 13, 2017, peacefully in her sleep at Bradford Place Assisted Living, Swansea, Illinois.

Margaret was raised in Toronto, Ohio. She met the love of her life, Edwin Burton Saunders, and filled the role of an Air Force military wife travelling to Virginia, Louisiana, Japan, Haiti, Germany, Washington D.C., Ohio, Florida and Illinois.

She raised two sons, Charles Edward Saunders and Randy Scott Saunders. She was blessed with two daughters-in-law, Sherry and Yvonne; four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Laura, Kimberly and Nichole; and six great-grandchildren.

After her husband of 52 years passed away, she enjoyed living in Florida, and later came to live in Illinois, near her younger son and his family.

Margaret enjoyed life to the fullest and her favorite saying was "I had a wonderful life."

She was preceded in death by husband Edwin and her son Charles "Ed" Saunders.
Memorial donations are suggested to Winstanley Baptist Church

The family will celebrate her life in a private gathering.
