Margaret Jean Thompson, nee White, age 86, of Shiloh, Ill., born February 13, 1931 in O'Fallon, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 6, 2017 at Cedar Ridge Health & Rehab, Lebanon, Ill.

Marge was born and raised in O'Fallon and graduated from O'Fallon Township High School. She was a 61-year member O'Fallon Chapter 487 Order of the Easter Star of Illinois, and Past Matron. She had retired from AT & T. During her retirement years, she lived in Wildwood, Fla., where she volunteered at the church soup kitchen and was a pink lady at the local hospital. She and her husband George moved back to the area last year.

She was preceded in death by her parents James E. and Jemima Ann, nee Carson, White; her brother James M. (Rose) White; sisters Violet (Herb) Hecklinger and Elizabeth (Mel) Wesemann; and half-brother Carl Mitchell.

Surviving are her husband George Edward Thompson, Jr., of Shiloh, Ill., children Robert (Charla) Morton of O'Fallon, Ill., Beverly Ann (partner Rick Wallace) Costello of Wentzville, Mo., Randy (Shirley) Morton of Westfield, Ind., step-children Tommy G. (Becky) Thompson of Mascoutah, Ill., and Toni Lynn Thompson of Tampa, Fla.; and sisters-in-law Pat Doherty and Norma Nowotney. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one's favorite charity.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 10:00 am – Noon, Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon.

Funeral: O'Fallon Chapter 487 Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a service at Noon, Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the funeral home, followed by a funeral service, with Pastor Vern Lintvedt officiating. Burial will follow at O'Fallon City Cemetery, O'Fallon, Ill.
