IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margie
Hunt
November 3, 1950 – April 27, 2018
Margaret Ann "Margie" Hunt was born on November 3, 1950 in Atlanta, Georgia and was welcomed into eternity by many of her previous family on April 27, 2018 in Mascoutah, Illinois.
Usually, there's a "dash" between the date of birth and the date of death, but what is in a dash?
Everything happens in that dash. All of Margie's firsts - first breath, first tooth, first step, first tear, first day of school, first love, first disappointment, first accomplishment, first child, first grandchild... Her dash was very full. She had two daughters, Tammi and Cari, by the time she was nineteen years old. She was brave to raise her two girls by herself for many of the early years and she always did what she had to to provide for them. She married Michael Anthony (Tony) Hunt in 1978 and they remained together until he passed away.
All her life, Margie never failed to tell her girls how proud she was of them and continued to do so until her very last breath. She loved her family fiercely and always hoped for and believed the best about them. She was their most ardent cheerleader. She dutifully had them attend church and learn memory verses as well as Psalms 23 and other passages from the Bible. Her heart almost burst with pride when she became a grandmother. She has five grandchildren (in order of birth) - Joseph Michael, Burgundy, Amanda, Alex, and Steven. She has now joined her beloved grandson Joseph Michael in eternity.
Margie enjoyed reading her Bible and other great books, puzzle books, watching Law and Order, and crocheting. She rarely turned down an opportunity to share the Gospel with anyone who would listen or had questions. Her life wasn't easy and she wanted everyone to know that Jesus got her through it all.
Margie never accumulated much in the way of material things during her life, but she ended up wealthy in things that are a far richer legacy than anything physical could ever be. All of her children and grandchildren know the Lord and will see her again. They are good people that have hearts to help others, often at great cost to themselves.
Shadows of her remain - in the laughter at a quirky joke, in the curly hair that all women in the family inherited from her, at The Look that the whole family knows and can replicate, why the mention of pickle juice will always bring a smile to only them, and why none of them much care for tuna casserole.
At the end, she held firm to the hand of Jesus as He ushered her into His Presence for all of eternity. Her family mourns the loss of her physical presence on this earth, but rejoices that she is now and forever healed. She no longer experiences pain or suffering. She is free. Her dash is complete.
In lieu of memorial donations, please live a good and fulfilling life of your own.
A celebration of her home going will be on Sunday, June 24. If you'd like to celebrate with the family, please contact Cari Schaeffer directly or through Wolfersberger Funeral Home for details. All who loved her are welcome.
