Marie Kline (89) of Edwardsville, Illinois, formerly of Dodge City, Kansas, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2006, at Edwardsville Nursing & Rehabilitation. She was born November 1, 1916 to Anthony and Cecelia (nee Leiker) Zimmerman in Kinsley, Kansas. Mrs. Kline worked as a cook and waitress at various restaurants until the mid-1960s, when she and her husband started their own business, George Kline's Auto & Motorcycle Repair Service in Dodge City, Kansas, where Mrs. Kline worked as the bookkeeper and office manager until Mr. Kline's death in 1985. She moved to Troy, Ilinois, six years ago to be near her daughter. Marie was a member of St. Ann's Council of Catholic Women at St. Jerome Catholic Church. She was a generous and loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by two sisters: Elsie Glover of Dodge City, Kan. and S. Hugoline Zimmerman, ASC, of Wichita, Kan.; her daughter, Judi (Jon) Sims of Troy; grand-daughters Staci (Greg) Spencer of Middle Island, New York, and Kimberley (Thomas) Jones of Norwich, Vermont; great-grandchildren Christin & Alex Spencer and Elizabeth & Rhys Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years George Albert Kline in 1985, her parents, and brothers Adolph and George Zimmerman.
Memorials may be made to Ministries Unlimited or for memorial masses and will be accepted at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W Washington, O'Fallon.
Funeral Service: Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at St. Jerome Church, Troy, Illinois with Monsignor Virgil Mank, VF presiding, with a luncheon to follow.
Interment: Greencrest Memorial Gardens, Dodge City, Kansas.
