Marie Louise Munie, age 90, of Belleville, Illinois, passed away Monday afternoon, October 9, 2006 at her home.

Marie was born to Joseph and Viola (nee Schmissur) Thoman on June 13, 1915 in Belleville, IL. She married Edgar Munie on November 20, 1935. Mrs. Munie was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church, O'Fallon. She was a talented golfer, enjoyed birdwatching and was a caring wife and devoted mother.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Edgar Munie, of Belleville; five children, son Wayne (Carolyn) Munie of Troy, and their children, Angela, Joseph, Michael, Nanette, and John; daughter Mary (Tom) Herbert of O'Fallon, and their children, James, Timothy, Susan, Thomas, and Kenneth; son George (Billie) Munie of Fayetteville, IL; daughter Anna Mae (Kurt) Tegtmeier of Belleville, and their children, Kurt, Philip, and Lynn, and daughter Dolores (Kirk) McCullough of Belleville, and their children, Rick, Dan, and Ken; one sister Viola Titter of O'Fallon; one brother Joseph (Adeline) Thoman of La Porte, Ind., a sister in law, Rose Munie of Fairview Heights, IL., and 22 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Munie was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dolores Thoman and a special aunt, Adele Thoman, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9:30 – 11:00 am, Thursday, October 12, 2006 at St Clare Catholic Church, O'Fallon.

Funeral Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am, Thursday, October 12, 2006 at St. Clare Catholic Church, O'Fallon, with Rev. James Deiters presiding.

Interment will follow at Mt Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh.

Memorial Donations are requested to either St. Clare Catholic Church Building Fund or Heartland Hospice.
