Marilyn Lee Seres, nee Hinson, age 70, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly of the metro-east area, born in 1940 in East St. Louis, Ill., died Friday, March 18, 2011 at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, following a brief illness.

She married Rich Seres on May 30, 1959 in East St. Louis. Her most recent employment as a cashier included Eagles Country Market in Bettendorf, Iowa and Schnucks in Fairview Heights, Ill. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Hazel, nee Tidwell, Hinson, infant brother Jerry Hinson and brother Roland "Ron" Hinson.

Surviving are her husband Rich; daughters, Lisa (Dan) Jackson of Troy, Ill.; and Christine (Mark) Freudenberg of Cedar Falls, Iowa; sons Rick (Myong) Seres of Beaver Dam, Wisc., and David (Elizabeth) Seres of Hudson, Iowa; and 14 grandchildren.

The family requests memorial donations in honor of Mrs. Seres be made to American Cancer Society or Haiti Relief Fund at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, Monday, March 21, 2011 at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, Iowa. Additional visitation will be from 10:00 am – 12:15 pm, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:15 pm, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the church, with Rev. Steven Janoski presiding.

Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
