Marilyn Spilseth, nee Huller, age 74, of O'Fallon, Ill., born July 3, 1938 in O'Fallon, died July 13, 2012.
Marilyn was born in O'Fallon and graduated from St. Clare's Catholic School and O'Fallon Township High School, Class of 1956. She earned her Master's Degree in Business Administration from Webster College in 1975. She worked for the US Air Force as a civilian for 42 years, 29 years at Scott Air Force Base and 13 years in the Pentagon. She was active in the Air Force Association (AFA), Airlift Tanker Association (ATA), Federally Employed Women, and Kiwanis Club. She was on the executive council of D.W. Steele Chapter of the AFA for about 10 years and participated in the National AFA Convention. One of her most memorable activities was as an AFA Executive Council member escorting Desert Storm troops by train from Washington, D.C. to the ticker-tape parade in New York City. She was active in the ATA both at Scott Air Force Base and in Washington. Marilyn was president of the Crystal City/Arlington, Va. Kiwanis Club and was a district officer. She joined the O'Fallon Woman's Club in 2000 and served as Budget and Finance Chairwoman. While in the Woman's Club, she ran two terrific and outstanding Garden Tours and fundraisers in 2005 and 2007. She was president of the club 2004-2006. She worked on many committees and brought many new members to the club. Marilyn was one of the original committee members of the O'Fallon Veterans' Monument.
Surviving are her daughter Kelly Ann, nee Wessel, (Robert) Balzer of San Diego, Calif., brother Ronald Lee Huller of Texas, and four step-children: Adella de Semideg of Venezuela, Terri Spilseth of O'Fallon, Ill., Sidney Spilseth II of Washington, Utah, and Sheri Clement of Orlando, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband Colonel Sidney M. Spilseth, parents Cletus J. and Irene (nee Tinney) Huller, and brother Cletus J. Huller, Jr.

Funeral: Funeral Service will be at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, July 19, 2012, at St. Clare Catholic Church, Shiloh, Ill., with Rev. James Deiters officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis County, Mo.
