Mark Allen Yarian, age 70, of Troy, Ill., born August 15, 1951, in Fort Wayne, Ind., died February 6, 2022, at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Mark grew up the son of a minister and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at the age of 19. He served for 20 years with a career specialty in Communications and Computer Systems, retiring from McGuire Air Force Base in 1990. He then began his second career as a Postal Carrier with the Granite City Post Office, retiring after 22 years.
Mark was a quick wit and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was especially fond of his nieces and nephews, and he loved animals. In keeping with his adventurous spirit, he married Carolyn Lucy on April 10, 1993, in Madison County Air Space, Ill., while aboard a Bell 206 Jet Ranger helicopter.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Willis A. Yarian and Marcella, nee Menchhofer, Yarian; and his brother Donn Yarian.
Surviving are his wife Carolyn Jane "C.J." Lucy-Yarian, of Troy, Ill., and his siblings Ruth (Jim) Nugent of Aiea, Hawaii/Reno, Nev.; Carl (Nazia) Yarian of Fairfax Station, Va.; Esther (John) Mowen of McKenzie, Tenn.; Daniel (Dinah) Yarian of Bondurant, Iowa; Luther (Grace) Yarian of Burleson, Texas; and Paul (Melissa) Yarian of Perrysburg, Ohio; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – Noon, Saturday, February 19, 2022, at First Baptist Church O'Fallon Kids' Life Center (south entrance), 1111 E. Highway 50, O'Fallon, Ill. A Memorial Service will begin at Noon.
A funeral procession will depart Wolfersberger Funeral Home, at 1:15 pm, Monday, April 25, 2022 for a Graveside Service, with military honors, to be held at 2 pm, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
