Marvin Gene Reno, age 63, of O'Fallon, Ill., passed away August 18, 2015 at his home.

Marvin was born on May 9, 1952 in Belleville, Ill., the son of Nathalie Reno and the late Melvin "DeDe" Reno. Marvin was a retired U.S. Marshal from the St Louis, Mo. district. His primary position within the Marshal Service was in the Witness Protection Program.

Marvin played basketball for O'Fallon High School where he held the all time scoring record for over four decades. He went on to earn a full scholarship to Louisiana College, where he graduated from in 1974. He was of the Catholic Faith and a proud father and husband who enjoyed running, outdoors, sports, playing cards and just spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his selflessness, wit, patience, kindness, competence and charm, among many other things.

Marvin was a perfect father and an amazing husband. We had many special times together and he will never be forgotten. He touched many lives across the U.S. through his family, friends and co-workers. His star will always shine brightly in our hearts.

He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his wife: Cheri Vaughn Reno; his children Jennifer (Chad) Miller, Justin Reno, Jonathan Vaughn and Taylor (fiance Nick Keim) Reno; grandson Cooper Miller; mother Nathalie Reno; brothers Dennis (Darcie) Reno, Bruce (Robin) Reno and Tom Reno; sister Judy (Mark) Wagner; nieces Connie Dachsteiner, Stacey Keller, Christen Hebl, Chelsea Guthrie and Brandy Reno; nephews Chad Reno, Blue Reno, Troy Wagner and Aaron Reno; parents-in-law Louie and Shirley Vaughn; many great nieces and nephews; and many special friends and co-workers.
