Mary Ann Harris-Bright, nee Plesetz, age 81, born July 14, 1928 in Mascoutah, Ill., to Frank and Emma, nee Heuser, Plesetz, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at Rosewood Care Center in Swansea, Ill.

Mary Ann married Herbert William "Bill" Harris, former American Legion commander, on July 1, 1950 and he passed away October 11, 1973. She attended O'Fallon United Church of Christ, enjoyed bowling, and worked as a teller at Bank of O'Fallon for 18 years, retiring in 1990. In the summer of 1989, she married John F. Bright; who passed away June 3, 1996. Mary Ann was a loving and beautiful mother, and was very proud of her daughters and their families.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilbert, Rudolph, and Franklin Plesetz; and one sister Ellen Braeutigam.

Mrs. Bright is survived by her two loving daughters, Lisa Bright of Decatur, Ill., and Amy (Richard) Gass of O'Fallon; her grandsons who were very special to her, William "Bill" Bright, Ryan M. Gass, and Robert J. "Robby" Gass. Also surviving are Mr. Bright's family, Larry Wernle, Edward Wernle, Ronald Bright, Donald Bright, Sharon Armstrong, Deborah Goodman, Charles Wernle (deceased) and their extended families, all of whom Mary Ann was very fond.

Memorial Donations in honor of Mrs. Bright are suggested to Family Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Visitation: Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Sunday Aug. 16, 2009 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday Aug. 16, 2009 with Rev. Walter Gerth officiating. Interment will follow at O'Fallon City Cemetery.
