Mary Marcel Hershberger, 59, of O'Fallon, Ill. died Friday, October 6, 2023, at her apartment in O'Fallon.

She was born January 23, 1964, in Keokuk, Iowa the daughter of Ross and Carolyn Herron.  Mary graduated from Muscatine Senior High School as part of the class of 1982. Mary spent most of her childhood in Keokuk, Iowa as the youngest of four children. As the last child at home, she left Keokuk with her Mom and Dad and started her new life in Muscatine, Iowa. After graduating high school as well as Muscatine Community College, she married and began her life as a military wife. Shortly thereafter, she had her son Bradley followed by her daughter Megan. They were truly the shining lights in her life.

Mary was a near lifetime member of the Methodist Church, most recently of the O'Fallon 1st United Methodist Church. Everyone who knew Mary knew that her church and her friends made up a huge part of her life. Craft days with her close circle of friends and bible study and church activities made her week. While reading was a big part of her past time, shopping was her joy.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by two children, Bradley (Fiona) Hershberger of Belleville, Ill. and Megan (Chris) Horn of Pace, Fla., four grandchildren, Killian Hershberger, Addison Blake, Sawyer Horn and Silas Horn.

She is also survived by three siblings, Mark (Linda) Herron of Bridgeville, Penn., Nick Herron of Bridgeville, Penn., and Candy (Tom) Bryant of Keokuk, Iowa. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 13th, 2023, at the O'Fallon First United Methodist Church in O'Fallon, Ill.  Interment will be in the Montrose Cemetery at a date to follow.
