Mary Elizabeth Wiechert, nee Warhoover, age 94, of O'Fallon, Il. born August 6, 1928 in O'Fallon, passed away Tuesday morning, February 14, 2023.

Mary graduated from O'Fallon Township High School in 1946 then soon was hired by Brown Brothers Shoes in a clerical position and as a shoe model. At O'Fallon First United Methodist Church, she served as church secretary 1968 – 1993. Her many volunteer services included Cub Scout den mother, O'Fallon Food Pantry, and Township Rummage Sales. She was a devoted member of the United Methodist Women. She followed the baseball Cardinals in good and bad seasons and never missed her boys' baseball games. She loved her family and was known to always serve dessert.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Margaret, nee Heron, Warhoover, husband Fred Wiechert, and siblings James, Edith, and Gene.

Surviving are her sons David (Debra) Wiechert of Belleville, Ill., and Ken (Allyn) Wiechert of O'Fallon, Ill., grandchildren Amanda (Mario Conte) Wiechert, Benjamin (Laura) Wiechert, Meg (Mark) Boyko, Heidi Wiechert, Carolyn (Mike) Howk, and Laura (Michael) Wiechert-Anderson; great-grandchildren Mario, Evan, Riley, Miles, Alexis, Willow, Lucas, Matthew, James, and John. Also surviving are her brother John H. Warhoover and brother-in-law Ralph D. Wiechert, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: The family will receive friends 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., Monday, February 20, 2023, at O'Fallon First United Methodist Church, 504 East Highway 50, O'Fallon, Il.

Funeral: 11 a.m., Monday, February 20, 2023 at the church with Rev. Don Long officiating. Committal service will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
