Maxine "Maggie" Frances Pinion, nee Meyer, age 68, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born June 15, 1948 in Lansing, Iowa, died May 29, 2017 at Memorial East Hospital, Shiloh, Ill.
Maggie grew up in East St. Louis and her family moved to O'Fallon when she was a teenager. She graduated from O'Fallon Township High School in 1966. She worked as a cook throughout the Metro-east , and retired from Rosewood Care Center, Swansea, 10 years ago. She loved playing bingo and was a headstrong and opinionated, yet very loving mother with a heart of gold.
She was preceded in death by her parents Allan and Katherine, nee Spores, Meyer; brother Glen Meyer, sister Ginger Stiles; son-in-law Robby Keniley; and father-in-law Bob "A.C." Pinion.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Melvin Pinion, whom she married March 17, 1967 at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; her children Kim Keniley, Christopher (Laura) Pinion, Melanie (Jimmy) Pinion, Eric (David Aromando) Pinion, and Leah Pinion; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-grandbaby on the way. Also surviving are her sisters Sandra (Clyde) Mager, Barbara Miller; mother-in-law Mary Pinion; brother-in-law Marvin Pinion; sister-in-law Cathy Bacigalupo; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 11:30 am, Friday, June 2, 2017 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon.
Funeral: 11:30 am, Friday, June 2, 2017, at the funeral home, with Pastor Ron Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
