Margaret "Megan" Anne Pemberton, nee Todd, age 40, of Mishawaka, Ind., formerly of O'Fallon, Ill., born January 15, 1974, died unexpectedly on October 4, 2014, following a very brief illness at Indiana University Methodist Hospital, in Indianapolis, Ind., while her parents and her sister were at her side.
Growing up in an Air Force family, Megan lived in Fairview Heights as a child. She graduated in 1992 from Canyon Springs High School in Moreno Valley, Calif. She was a proud and protective mother to her two children. Megan had big blue eyes and a smile that could light up the world. She was an excellent, life-long swimmer, and loved animals.
Surviving are her parents Colonel David and Jan, nee Walsh, Todd of O'Fallon; her children Robert Charles Pemberton and Grace Mae Pemberton, of Mishawaka, Ind.; her sister Beth (Dr. James) Lundy and their children Lauren and Kate Lundy, of O'Fallon.
Memorials are suggested to Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois, PO Box 831, Belleville, IL 62222, or your local domestic violence charity. The family also wants to express their heartfelt thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at IU Methodist Hospital, including the Cardio-Vascular CCU staff that provided medical and comfort care, not only to Megan but to her family as well.
Visitation: Friends may call from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 13, 2014, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 625 St. Nicholas Dr., O'Fallon, Ill.
Funeral: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., October 13, 2014 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon, with Msgr. William J. Hitpas presiding.
Funeral will be conducted by the Palmer Funeral Home, in South Bend, Ind., with burial at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Mich.
