Melody Jeanene Wiley was born on October 2, 1960, in Jonesville, Louisiana. A proud Louisiana native, she carried the spirit of her home throughout her life. Jeanene passed peacefully on September 1, 2025, in Caseyville, Illinois, surrounded by the family she loved, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Known for her compassion, she earned her Patient Care Technician certification from Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Natchez, Mississippi, and spent over 20 years caring for the elderly as a private caregiver. She was a devoted mother to Phillip Hocher (wife Kelly) and Margie Boter (husband Khristopher), a loving grandmother to Ben, Allison, Abigail, and Mason, and is survived by her mother, Margie Lee Wiley, and her siblings Mark (Evie), Dempsey, and Joyce Wiley. She was welcomed into heaven by her father, Cyrus Dempsey Wiley; brothers Gary and Sam Wiley; and grandmother Robie Tiffee Ziegler.

Jeanene lived in the simple joys. She nurtured her houseplants tenderly, lost herself in the sun, sand, and the carefree sounds of a Jimmy Buffett song, and had an uncanny gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and loved. Jeanene leaves a legacy that cannot be measured in words. Her life embodied giving wholeheartedly, shining brightly, and loving openly.

A memorial visitation will be held from 10 am – Noon, Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon, Ill.
