Michael Lloyd Wittmer, age 52, lifelong resident of O'Fallon, Ill., passed away Monday, October 8, 2007 in Belleville. Mike was born August 2, 1955 in Belleville to Irvin Lloyd and Lorraine (nee Kersting) Wittmer. He graduated from O'Fallon Twp. High School and attended Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. He was employed at Roesch Enamel & Manufacturing Co., in Belleville since 1988. He was a welder by trade, working in the metal finishing industry. Mike was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, and enjoyed spending time on Pyramid Lakes and the Kaskaskia River. His dogs, Maggie and Midge, and cat, Puddy, will miss his presence.

He is survived by his father Irvin Wittmer of O'Fallon; brother Steve (Susan) Wittmer of Monrovia, Calif.; sisters Susan (Mark) Wegrzynski of Edmond, Okla; and Christine Wittmer of Lexington, Ky.; and special nephew and nieces, Sam, Abbie, and Katie Wegrzynski.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine (nee Kersting) Wittmer. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the cancer research fund of the donor's choice.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday, Oct. 12, 2007 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am, Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, with Jack Spratte officiating.

Interment will follow at Summerfield Cemetery, Summerfield, Ill.
