Michele F. Frederick, age 78, of O'Fallon, born January 5, 1942 in Boston, Mass., passed away December 30, 2020.

Known affectionately as Mom, Dutchie, and Michal, Michele was like an eagle soaring through life. She wasn't a woman meant to be in one place for very long. Michele loved to travel – by boat, train, airplane or car. As long as she could go, it didn't matter how she got there. She lived a gypsy lifestyle. she never required much in life, just the bare essentials. There was never a person she ever met that was an enemy. She would invite strangers to stay the night or to have a hot meal. Michele returned to school after about 25 years to complete her high school education. When her daughters started college, Michele jumped on the education train with them and earned her Bachelor of Science degree with honors in criminal justice – a degree that totally fit who she was.

Mom, you will be highly missed. We will think of you with every breath we take. There is a little of you in each one of us. You were on this earth for 78 Christmases, 78 birthdays, and 78 other holidays. You rest now, Mom. You do God's work now. Your earthly family has it from here. You will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Patrick Frederick; and her parents Aubrey and Dorothy, nee Roache, Bolway.

Surviving are her five daughters Michal Johnson of Palm Coast, Fla., Dorothy Jensen of O'Fallon, Ill., Audrey Peet of O'Fallon, Ill., Grace Paul of Panama City, Fla., and Kallie Frederick of O'Fallon, Ill.; her only sister Audrey A. McFarland; and her favorite niece Terry Dutcher; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter Naomi Rose Severns.

Private family services will be held.
