Monte "MC" Carlton Williams, age 74, of Belleville, born March 17, 1935 in Owensboro, Ky., passed away December. 11, 2009 at Calvin Johnson Care Center in Belleville.
MC was a criminal psychologist at Alton State Hospital, then at Menard Correctional Center, retiring as Supervisor from the Illinois Department of Corrections in 1996.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Eula, nee Skaggs, Williams.
He is survived by his five children Ramona C. (Bob) Becker of Eureka, Mo., Giovania M. (John) Diefenbach of Pacific, Mo., Monte C. "Butch" Williams, Jr., of Ballwin, Mo., Patrick T. Williams of Ballwin, Mo., and Terence C. (financée Judy Boettcher) Williams of Fairview Heights, Ill., many grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are longtime friends Bob Spencer of Louisville, Ky., and Don White of Chicago.
Memorials be made to Wounded Warrior Fund, to support military men and women who have been injured in the line of duty.
Graveside Services, with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
