Nancy Carol Harper was born October 1, 1941 in St. Louis, Mo., to Benjamin and Carrie, nee Balkey, Brauch. She passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Highland Health Care Center, Highland, Ill., at the age of 84.
Nancy grew up in St. Louis and attended St. Louis schools. She had worked as a secretary for Eagle Pitcher Corporation, and later in life, for Apple Cleaners in Fairview Heights, Ill. After her children were grown, she moved to O’Fallon, Ill., to enjoy time, crafts and to travel with her older sister Eilene.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dennis Michael “Mike” Harper; siblings Jean (Stewart) Andersen, Eilene (Charles) Patterson, Benjamin (Irene) Brauch, Robert (Virginia) Brauch, Daniel (Norma) Brauch, and Gary Brauch.
She is survived by her three children James S. Harper of Roanoke, Tex., Paula C. (Tank Solano) Wilson of Chalmette, La., and Paul R. (Kayla) Harper of Miami, Okla.; grandchildren Tyler M. (Megan) Wilson, Carrie L. (Brett) Shortell, Noah Harper, Liam Harper, Samantha (Casey) Scott; great-grandchildren Ainsley J. Wilson, Zachary Wilson, Harlan R. Scott, and Marilyn Shortell; loving niece Connie Brauch of O’Fallon, Ill., and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and friends.
She will be truly missed by many.
