Nancy Lee Ping, daughter of Ivan and Nancy Ann, nee Richardson, Ping, age 59, of O'Fallon, Ill., born May 9, 1955, passed away May 29, 2014 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.

The eldest of six children, Nancy graduated from OTHS in 1973, and began working at the former Parkview Colonial Manor as a cook. She also worked at Keg Crate & Barrel, Hamilton's Donut Shop and finished her career in food services at Memorial Hospital. She was a talented photographer, and avid collector of nostalgic items. Nancy spent countless hours and endless energy supporting U.S. troops, mostly by sending greeting cards to military men and women around the globe. She was a very likable woman, with a big heart. Her generous spirit was evident in her charitable acts of kindness and giving. Nancy loved her family dearly and was a doting aunt to her 15 nieces and nephews, whom she spoiled immensely.

She is survived by her mother Nancy Ann, nee Richardson, Ping of Lebanon; siblings Donna Ping of O'Fallon, Les Ping of Lebanon, Jim Ping of Belleville, Ruth (Jerry) Waeltz of Lebanon, and Rich Ping of Lebanon; and her 15 much-loved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Ivan Ping.

Nancy contributed to many organizations, but some of her favorites were USO (usostl.org), St. Joseph's Indian School (stjo.org), and Pound Pets c/o Spencer Kennels. Your memorial donations to these organizations would be appreciated. The family is grateful to the staff at Memorial Hospital, 2nd floor, ICU, for their genuine care and kindness to Nancy and her family.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon.

Private services will be held, with interment at O'Fallon City Cemetery, O'Fallon.
