Nina Lee Pfeifer, nee Remelius, age 88, of O'Fallon, born December 9, 1928 in O'Fallon, passed away Wednesday evening, January 25, 2017 at Mar Ka Nursing Home, Mascoutah, Ill.
Nina was born and raised in O'Fallon. She married her high-school sweetheart James D. Pfeifer on November 27, 1947 at the former O'Fallon Evangelical & Reformed Church. Along with her mother, she operated Virginia Lee's Fabrics retail sewing shop from 1953 – 1975 in downtown O'Fallon. Nina then attended Quincy Community College and began her nursing career, working in nursing homes and doctors' offices. She and her husband retired to Green Valley, Ariz., moving back to O'Fallon in 2010.

She was preceded in death by her husband James on March 22, 2010; her parents Elton and Virginia, nee Mantle, Remelius; and her son-in-law Ronald George.

Surviving are her two daughters Kathi (Bill) Watkins of Fort Worth, Tex., and Barbara George of Shiloh; her grandchildren James (Catelin) Watkins, Jodee (Damien) Lynch, Thomas George, and Michael (Melissa) George; and five great-grandchildren Will, Colin, Grace, Ella, and Ruby.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 11:00 am, Monday, January 30, 2017, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon, Ill.

Funeral: Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 am, Monday, January 30, 2017, at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer officiating. Private burial will be at O'Fallon City Cemetery, O'Fallon, Ill.
