Norman Allan Wright, age 79, of O'Fallon, born November 10, 1935 in East St. Louis, Ill., died February 18, 2015 at home.
Norm was previously self-employed at Wright-Way Wheel and Brake Service in East St. Louis. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing cards –especially rummy. He was involved in athletics most of his life, either while playing, coaching or umpiring. Many great memories were created while traveling in the mountains of Colorado and camping with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Margaret Elizabeth, nee Lynch, and Clarence Albert Wright; his brother Albert Wright, Jr., and his sister Marlene Hamm.
Surviving are his wife Mary Ann, nee Campe, Wright, whom he married April 14, 1956 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in East St. Louis; his children Jeffrey (Marnie) Wright of Shiloh, Susan (Todd) Junck of O'Fallon, and Steven (Jane) Wright of St. Louis; his much-loved seven grandchildren Austin, Mason, Andrew (Dawn), Sarah, Maggie, Michael, and Emily; and his three sisters Doris Scharf, Patty Beidle, and Carolyn Hofstetter, and sister-in-law Kathy Wright.
Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois or St. Clare Catholic Church.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at St. Clare Catholic Church, 1411 Cross Street, Shiloh, IL 62269, with Rev. James Deiters presiding.
