Norris "Beck" Beckman, age 95, of O'Fallon, born September 7, 1919, in O'Fallon, died Tuesday evening, December 9, 2014 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Ill.

Beck grew up in O'Fallon, graduated from OTHS in 1937, and earned his associates degree from Blackburn College. He worked as a billing clerk for various trucking companies, and also as a custodian at O'Fallon Twp. High School, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, card-playing, and was an avid Illini fan. Beck was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father Leola and William Oeser, and son-in-law Jerome Gass.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years Dorothy, nee Schmidt, Beckman, children Linda Gass and Michael (Barbara "Cookie") Beckman, all of O'Fallon; grandchildren Keith Michael (Karen) Gass of Calif., Kirk David (Heather) Gass of Calif., Karrie Lyn (Michael) Vantieghem of Troy, Ill., Tracy Ann (Jay) Black of Libertyville, Ill., Stephanie Michelle (Chris) Kolb of Wildwood, Mo., Julie Beckman (Phil) Weber Chesterfield, Mo., and 15 great-grandchildren: Nathan Michael Gass, Nicholas Michael Gass, Jordan Taylor Gass, Cole Michael Vantieghem, Zackary Paul Vantieghem, Bryce Patrick Vantieghem, Hayden Michael Black, Kaitlyn Taylor Black, Kylie MaKenzie Black, James Michael Kolb, Jacob Christopher Kolb, Addison Michelle Kolb, Landon Philip Weber, Gavin Michael Weber, and Taylor Allison Weber.

Memorial donations may be made to O'Fallon United Church of Christ or Hospice of S. Illinois.

Visitation: Friends may call from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon.

Funeral: Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 pm, Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer officiating. Burial will follow at O'Fallon City Cemetery.
