Obituary
Orval Henry Schloemann, age 82, lifelong resident of O'Fallon, Ill., passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2008.
He was born October 31, 1925 to William George & Hilda Minnie (nee Meier) Schloemann in Belleville, Illinois. Mr. Schloemann was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was an engineer for the Stag-Carling Brewery Company in Belleville, retiring in 1988. He was O'Fallon Township Clerk 1977 - present, and served on the Board of Directors for the Township Officers of Illinois from 1992 - 2004. Orval was a member of Masonic Lodge AF & AM #576 of O'Fallon, Shriners Ainad Temple Legion of Honor, and O'Fallon Twp. Senior Citizens Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching old westerns on TV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Richard William Schloemann in 1970, and his sister Marceline Krug.
He is survived by his wife, Alice "Peggy" Schloemann of O'Fallon; son Robin (Johanna) Schloemann of O'Fallon; daughter Rhonda (Brad) Bruckner of Belleville; grandchildren, Greg (fiancée Colleen Kertz) Schloemann of St. Louis; Windy Reynolds of O'Fallon; Brandon (Kat) Downs of Belleville; Nicholas (companion Angie Faith) Downs of O'Fallon, and Natalie (fiancé Tim Routh) Downs of O'Fallon; and one special great-grandchild Taylor Reynolds. Also surviving are brothers Don (Corine) Schloemann, Wayne Schloemann, Kenny (Aline) Schloemann, all of Belleville, Lloyd (Agnes) Schloemann of Evansville, Ill.; Gerald Schloemann of Florida; and his sister Judie (Jim) Klein of Germantown, Ill.
Memorial donations may be made to O'Fallon United Church of Christ or Shriner's Hospital for Children.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2008 and from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home. The Senior Citizens Club of O'Fallon will conduct a walk-through at 6:15 p.m. The Legion of Honor will conduct a walk-through at 6:45 p.m.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer and Rev. Walter Gerth officiating.
Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
