Obituary

Patricia Ann Bugger, nee Arentsen, age 60, of Troy, Ill., born March 12, 1958 in Highland, Ill., passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 after a hard-fought battle with cancer at St. Clare Hospital, Fenton, Mo.

Pat grew up in Trenton and graduated from Mater Dei High School, Breese. She earned her degree in  accounting from Bradley University. As a financial analyst at AT&T, Pat was a natural leader and organizer among her family and co-workers. She provided loving care to her mother in her final years. Pat met her husband Elmer on a blind date and they married August 31, 1985 in O'Fallon.  They travelled often during their retirement years. Pat was able to be part of the many milestones of grandson Aiden's first year.

Pat was diagnosed with cancer in January 2016. Her fighting spirit helped her to exceed all expectations by continually beating the odds. She died surrounded by those she loved dearly, under the kind care of staff at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer on December 23, 2017; her parents Otto and Helen Arentsen; her parents-in-law Omar and Lorine Bugger and Paul Tonnies; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Luella Hollenkamp and Shirley and Lloyd Roberson.

Surviving are her daughters Emily (Corey) Hahn of Wildwood, Mo., Allison (Derek) Hamilton of St. Louis, Mo., grandson Aiden Hahn; brothers Jim (Bonnie) Arentsen, Mike (Deb) Arentsen, Tom (Tammy) Arentsen, all of Trenton, Brian (Melodi) Arentsen of Carlyle; brothers-in-law Dennis Hollenkamp of Carlyle, and Edward (Judy) Bugger of O'Fallon; nieces and nephews Maggie, Kyle, Shawn, Cory, Hannah, Noah, Marcie, Eric, Joni, Lisa, Kurt, David, and Carrie.
