Obituary

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia 'Pat' Hartkop, 88, of Bettendorf, Iowa, will be held at 10:30 on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, with a Rosary at 3:30. We will have a viewing at the church from 9:30 AM until time of services on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for Masses or to the American Kidney Fund.

Mrs. Hartkop passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, O'Fallon, Ill.

Patricia Irene Putnam was born March 16, 1937, in Columbus, Neb., to Paul and Leona (Schaecher) Putnam. She graduated from Alleman High School, Rock Island, Ill. in 1955. She was united in marriage to John 'Jack' Hartkop on August 5, 1961, in Moline, Ill. at St. Mary's Church. He preceded her in death on January 29, 1997.

For 45 years, Pat dedicated her life to caring for children as a beloved day care provider. She had a special gift for making every child feel safe, loved, and valued. Her gentle spirit, patience, and nurturing heart touched countless families throughout the years.

Family was the center of her world. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her loved ones, whether gathered around the dinner table, celebrating holidays, or simply being together. Pat also enjoyed travel, listening to music and watching Hallmark movies and EWTN.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf, and had been a eucharistic minister and member of the church choir.

Patricia will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, deep faith, and boundless love for both her family and the many children whose lives she helped shape.

Survivors include her children Patricia 'Patty' (Mike) Dunsworth of Kansas City, Mo., Susan 'Sue' (Bill) Haupert of St. Charles, Mo., Mary (Dick) Valentine of Naperville, Ill., Michael 'Mike' (Jill) Hartkop of O'Fallon, Theresa (Kevin) Jackson of San Antonio, Texas, Stephen 'Steve' (Ann) Hartkop of Clive, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; her brother Paul (Nan) Putnam of Coal Valley, Ill., and her brother Jim (Jeannine) Putnam of Colona, Ill.

She was also preceded in death by her sister Joyce Socha and her parents.
