Age 75, of Fairview Heights, Illinois passed away Friday, November 24, 2006, at her home after a brave battle with ALS.
She was born May 1, 1931 in East Saint Louis, Illinois, to Frank Bless and Irene Hazel (nee Schultz) Hogg. Patricia graduated from Saint Phillip's grade school in 1945 and Academy of Notre Dame High School in 1949. She was an active member of the C. K. & L of I., member of Belleville Moose Lodge, Saint Ann Sodality at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and Fairview Heights Church of Christ. Patricia was retired from Famous Barr. She had a zest for life and was very active in the lives of her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.
Special thanks to Monita Cox for her loving care to Mom during her illness and also to Hospice of Southern Illinois for their active support which allowed Mom to remain at home throughout her illness.
Patricia generously donated her body to science for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) research.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Louis Frank Menn, I on June 27, 2005 to whom she was married for 52 years.
She is survived by her children Suzanne (special companion Jimmy Crawford) Menn of Belleville, Deborah (Rick) Burrow of O'Fallon, Louis Frank (Kristy) Menn, II of Fairview Heights, and Michael (Emily) Menn of Fairview Heights, eight grandchildren: Bryan (Karin) Burrow, Ben (Lisa) Burrow, Brooke Burrow; Christopher, Lindsay, and MacKenzie Menn; Nick and Matthew Menn; and one great-granddaughter Skylar Burrow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Hospice of Southern Illinois, 305 S. Illinois St., Belleville, Ill. 62220 or ALS Foundation for Life, PO Box 504, Franklin, MA 02038 and donations will be accepted at the church.
Funeral: A memorial celebration of her life will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 28 at Fairview Heights Church of Christ, 9955 Bunkum Rd.
