Patricia Ann Nooney, age 77, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, passed away Saturday morning, December 16, 2006 at Memorial Convalescent Center in Belleville. Patricia was born to Walter and Pearl (nee Heine) Callahan on February 23, 1929 in East Saint Louis, Illinois. She worked as a switchboard operator for the Metro-East Journal in E. St. Louis until her retirement in the early 1980's. Mrs. Nooney most recently worked at Schnucks Grocery Store in Swansea as a demo lady and greeter.


She is survived by her three children: daughter Leslie (Gary) Goldberg of O'Fallon, and their children, Lindsay, Carlos, and Paula; son Kevin (Kathy) King of Belleville, and their children, Becky, Teri (fiancé Bob Williard), and Dan; and son Keith (Debora) King of Pensacola, Fla., and their children Ryan and Trevor; brother Howard Callahan of State Park Place, sister Jeanne Bierey of Fairview Heights, former husband Lester C. King of Shiloh, brother-in-law Norman Blumyer of Belleville, and the extended Nooney family.

Mrs. Nooney was preceded in death by her husband, Jack T. Nooney, her parents, brothers Dennis, Jack & Bill Callahan, and sister Muriel Blumyer.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 9:00 pm, Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home and from 9:00 - 9:45 am, Thursday, December 21, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Procession will depart the funeral home at 9:45 am, for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, December 21, 2006 at St. Clare Catholic Church, O'Fallon, with Rev. James Deiters presiding.

Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Memorial Donations are requested to either St. Clare Catholic Church Building Fund or American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
