Patricia Ellen Sharp was born August 19, 1932 in St. Louis Mo., where she grew up as the youngest of four daughters born to Clinton and Jenny, nee Pratt, Aydelott. She attended Cleveland High School in the Dutchtown neighborhood of St. Louis.
In 1967, She married Donald Sharp with whom she enjoyed a long and meaningful relationship, as they partnered together to create and sell beautifully framed artwork that Pat created. Yet among all her creations, Pat became especially known for the small painted rocks she lovingly shared with friends and family—tiny, thoughtful gifts that reflected her generous spirit and desire to bring smiles to others.
When Pat moved into Revela of O'Fallon Senior apartments a few years ago, she was found to be a good listener and made friends easily, leaving a lasting impression on those around her through her warmth and kindness.
She is survived by her three children Susan (Jim) Stege of Williamsburg, Mo., David (Lynn) Sharp of O’Fallon, Mo., and Jill (Mike) Josias of O’Fallon, Ill.; grandchildren Jim (Jennifer) Sarah, Aaron (Arijana), Jacob (Alisa), Paul (Christy), Joseph (Kristina), Clinton, Jacob (Hannah), Daylyn (Emily), Shelby (Joseph), and Josie; 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her creativity, her quiet strength, and the small but meaningful ways she made the world brighter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, son Dennis, daughter Kathleen (Keith) Carlson; stepdaughter Shelley Leyba, great-grandson Andrew, sisters Bess, Mary Lou, and Janet; and her former husband Edward Boehme.
As Pat loved animals, memorial donations are suggested to Humane Society of Missouri, 1201 Macklind Ave., St Louis, MO 63110 or online at hsmo.org.
A private memorial event to celebrate her life will be hosted by her family. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband Don, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
Wolfersberger Funeral Home of O’Fallon, Ill., is serving the family. Online condolences and a photo tribute may be viewed at www.wfh-ofallon.com.
