Paula Joyce Palmer, nee Surber, age 61, of O'Fallon, Illinois passed away Thursday, April 6, 2006 at her residence. She was born to Andrew F. and Helen F. (nee Butler) Surber on July 17, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa. In her early years, Paula worked as an administrative assistant at Broad Lawns Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1981, she moved to O'Fallon, where she attended Belleville Area College (SWIC) and Southern Illinois Univeristy-Edwardsville. She worked as a news carrier for the Belleville News Democrat for several years until her retirement in 1996.

Paula is survived by her parents; her son, Todd & wife, Adrienne Palmer of O'Fallon; daughter, Crystal Walzer of Des Moines, Iowa; sister and closest friend, Ruth Koleto, of O'Fallon and her children, Paul Pressley, Pamela Pressley, Katrina Koleto, and Brian Koleto; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Andrew Palmer, Whitney Kirk, Elizabeth Kirk, Richard Walzer, Jr., Tracy (John) Day, Chris Shears, Vicky Ward, Rebecca Pressley, Gregory Pressley, Bradley Pressley.

Memorial Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association & will be accepted at Wolfersberger Funeral Home or Westover Funeral Home (Des Moines).

Friends may call on Saturday, April 8, from 6:00 – 7:30 pm, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.

No Local Funeral Services will be held.

Interment: Chapel Hill Gardens, Des Moines, Iowa
