Obituary

Peggy L. Deering, nee Richards, age 77, of Shiloh, born May 30, 1944 in Potosi, Mo., passed away December 24, 2021 at Mercy South Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

Peggy was one of twelve children of Walter and Ethel Richards. As a teenager, she worked at White Castle and as a camp counselor at YMCA. She retired 25 years ago from Multiplex Company in Ballwin, Mo., and she and her late husband Kenneth moved to Shiloh 9 years ago from the Bevo Mill neighborhood of St. Louis. She loved old classic movies, especially the Thin Man series.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Kenneth R. Deering and eleven siblings.

Surviving are her daughters, Robin (Roger) Matecki of Valmeyer, Ill., and Deanna (Gary) Krafft of Dittmer, Mo., and her grandson Sgt. Jordan Matecki, USMC, of whom she was very proud.

Memorial donations are requested to the American Heart Association.

Visitation:   4-8 pm, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.

Funeral:  9:30 am, Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
