Alice M. "Peggy" Schloemann, nee Foy, age 80, of O'Fallon, born September 23, 1929 in St. Louis, Mo., passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010.

Peggy graduated from O'Fallon Township High School and attended beauty school in Belleville. She operated "Peggy's Beauty Shop" in the basement of her home, serving clients for 43 years. She served as O'Fallon Township Clerk in 2008, succeeding her husband, Orval, who had served since 1977. Over the years, she supported her husband by attending various Masonic and Shriner events. Peggy enjoyed camping, boating, crochet, cross-stitch, working crossword puzzles and playing bingo. She was a member of O'Fallon Township Senior Citizens Club, Order of Eastern Star O'Fallon Chapter 487, and O'Fallon United Church of Christ. She most loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Nellie, nee Cunliff, Foy; her husband Orval H. Schloemann, whom she married October 2, 1948 in O'Fallon; and passed away January 2, 2008; her son Richard W. Schloemann, who died in 1970; her brothers Albert and William Foy; and two grandchildren Janell and Richard Schloemann.

Peggy is survived by her son Robin (Johanna) Schloemann of O'Fallon; daughter Rhonda (Brad) Bruckner of Belleville; grandchildren Greg (Colleen) Schloemann of St. Louis; Windy Reynolds of Miss., Brandon (Catherine) Downs of Belleville; Nicholas (Angie Faith) Downs of O'Fallon; and Natalie (Tim) Routh of Hendersonville, Tenn., step-grandchild Cody Bruckner of Belleville; and great-grandchildren, Spirit Manley, Henna Downs, Cale Downs, Taylor Reynolds, and one more on the way.

Also surviving are her brother Jack Foy; sister Inez Foy; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nida Foy, Don & Corine Schloemann, Wayne Schloemann, Kenny & Aline Schloemann, Lloyd "Butch" & Agnes Schloemann, Gerald Schloemann, and Judie & Jim Kleim.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Shriners Hospital for Children.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday, January 22, 2010 and from 9:00 – 11:00 am, Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon.

The O'Fallon Township Senior Citizens will conduct a walk-through at 6:00 pm. The Order of the Eastern Star O'Fallon Chapter 487 will conduct a service at 6:30 pm.

Funeral: 11:00 am, Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the funeral home, with Reverends Martha Thierheimer and Walter Gerth officiating. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
